William Rosenberg coined the idea after selling doughnuts and coffee in construction sites. The first store opened in 1948. By 1955, Mr. Rosenberg franchised the restaurant to other businessmen.
The restaurant has more than 2000 locations worldwide. It sponsors professional team sports such as basketball teams. Just recently, the restaurant participated in the raising awareness of the National Donut Day, which was organized by a reputable site.
