About Boudin

First known as The Boudin French Bakery, Isidore Boudin perfected his sourdough recipe for the newly opened bakery in 1849.

Now, you can find his bread at one of the 28 cafes located throughout California. Their sourdough bread has won multiple awards, including Business Insider’s recognition for the best sourdough in San Francisco.

Boudin Review

Boudin is always busy, but that’s no problem for you since there are two floors with ample seating. You can order from the counter on the first floor or head upstairs for full service dining. The bread is the main attraction and you can see it being made in the in-house bakery.

The homemade bread is warm on the inside and crunchy on the outside—perfect for pairing with their delectable soups. The seafood is rich without being overpowering and the tea always tastes freshly brewed.

The menu offers options like breakfast, burgers, combos, salads, sandwiches, soups, pizzas, and desserts. The clam chowder and crab mac and cheese are must-tries for seafood lovers but I recommend the tomato garlic soup in a bread bowl to warm you up.

You can tell the staff is proud of their work and products. The service is excellent even when the place is packed. Carryout orders are served promptly for those of you who are on a tight schedule.
