About Hwy 55
This family-friendly diner was founded by Kenney Moore in his hometown in North Carolina in 1991. By then, the diner was still called Andy’s Cheesesteak and Cheeseburgers.
This humble diner now has a total of 130 locations. It was awarded Best Burger of 2012 by BurgerBusiness and was named a top 500 franchise by Entrepreneur Mag.
Hwy 55 Review
They have a lot of seating available for customers. The ambiance is very casual and relaxing, making it suited for families as well as groups looking to relax after work.
The food is reasonably priced. The burgers are delicious—the patty is juicy and cooked just right. Any of their burgers can be paired with crisp and well-seasoned fries.
When dropping by any Hwy 55 location, think about trying their Five Five Challenge. If you’re not up to it, at least get their All-American Cheesesteak and their Chicken Sandwich.
The open-grill diner has a friendly yet efficient service crew. The wait time isn’t that long as the food is served minutes after ordering.
