About Famous Dave’s
Dave Anderson is the driving force behind the success of the chain. He opened the first restaurant in Hayward, Wisconsin in 1994. The chain is a hit in the Midwestern United States and is now open in 152 locations across 33 states and Puerto Rico.
Throughout its many locations, Famous Dave’s has gathered over 700 awards from barbecue competitions. The founder himself is a seasoned pit master, going through extreme lengths to harness his craft.
Famous Dave’s Review
A typical Famous Dave’s looks like a classic BBQ shack, but there are branches that have themes. One in the Calhoun Square in Uptown Minneapolis is designed as a Blues club.
The meats are hand-rubbed with a custom blend of spices and cooked in a live-wood smoker stoked with hickory logs. After the ribs are smoked, they’re tossed on the grill to caramelize the sauces, creating a charred sweetness on the outside.
To enhance your BBQ experience, they also have a variety of original and award-winning sauces that will sweep you off your feet.
The staff are always helpful, attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. To ensure that the food is served fresh off the grill, service takes around 15-20 minutes.
