About Baskin-Robbins
The store came to be in 1948, when brothers-in-law Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins merged their ice cream businesses in California.
They inadvertently pioneered franchising in the ice cream industry in 1950. From six initial stores, they spread sweetness via a whopping 7,944 franchised units in at least 31 countries.
