About Avanti’s
Albert Zeller opened the first Avanti’s in 1966 in Peoria, Illinois. He still runs the family business alongside his son Stefan.
There are now five locations in central Illinois. They don’t list any formal awards, but their specialty sandwich called the Gondola receives universally rave reviews online.
Avanti’s Review
The restaurants have table top seating. The dining rooms are cozy with Italian décor. You can also stop in for a quick carry-out order.
There are full entrées available in addition to appetizers, sandwiches, and wraps. You can build your own pasta dish or pizza. Top it off with cake.
Everyone loves the bread and butter no matter what they order. They also have some great starters like fried ravioli. You can try them all with a sampler platter.
The restaurants are often quite busy, but the service is quick and friendly for dine-in and carry-out customers.
