About Rubio’s
Rubio’s first opened in San Diego, California in 1983. The founder, Ralph Rubio, had obsessed over fish tacos on the California coastline. Him and some friends wanted to share their love of coastal food.
With over 200 locations scattered around the west and Florida, Rubio’s continues the tradition of delicious fish tacos across the states. They continue to win local and national awards for best fish taco USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice Award for “Best California Fish Taco”.
Rubio’s Review
While the first Rubio’s was a walk up stand, they have evolved to have full counter with seats in most of their locations. Expect to find decor to match their coastal roots.
You have got to try the fish taco’s. Battered and fried, served with fresh salsa, these tacos are unbeatable. Rubio’s also specializes in some burritos, bowls, and sides.
I highly recommend the Langostino Lobster Burrito while supplies last. The fish taco is always good, but their burritos have a charm of their own. If you happen in on a chilly day, try the Chicken Tortilla Soup.
As a fast casual restaurant, Rubio’s has minimal wait times. During the lunch rush, there might be a line, but they seem to move quickly. I know you won’t be disappointed!
